We are not an MOT test station, but we prepare your car for its MOT, arrange the test for you, and fix any failures to get you back on the road — from brakes and suspension to welding and lights.
Failed your MOT, or want your car checked over before the test? Roscoe Street Garage takes the stress out of it. We go through the failure or advisory items with you, give you a free quote, and carry out the repairs properly, ready for the retest.
No — we don't carry out the MOT test itself. What we do is arrange the test for you at an approved test centre and handle all the repair work. That means you get one point of contact and a garage that knows your car, without the run-around of booking things yourself.
Most MOT failures come down to a handful of areas, and we cover them all:
An advisory is something the tester has noticed that is not yet bad enough to fail, such as a tyre close to the limit or light corrosion. Advisories often turn into failures by the next test, so it is worth getting them looked at. Bring us your MOT certificate and we will quote for putting the advisories right.
Under DVSA rules you can usually only drive a car that has failed if its current MOT certificate is still valid and no “dangerous” defects were listed. Without a valid MOT, you can only drive it to a pre-booked test or to have the failure repaired, and only if no dangerous defects were listed. If dangerous defects were listed, it must not be driven. Not sure where you stand? Call us on 01723 336989 and we can talk it through, or arrange vehicle recovery.
